Invented by Charles "Charley" Douglass, the Laugh Track is canned laughter used by certain shows to provoke funny moments. The decline of the Laugh Track started with the sitcoms like M.A.S.H. and The Wonder Years. Later on, shows like Sports Night and Arrested Development phased out Laugh Tracks all together. Single Camera Show became all the Rage, and sometimes it is weird to watch a show with a Laugh Track. Most of your Shows on CBS have a laugh track. With the rise of more dramedy shows, It is almost a thing of the past. Sometimes that is no laughing matter.
