Burton "Gus" Guster Vs. Kenny, aka "Bud" (Cosby Show)

Let's get this out of the way first. Gus and Kenny are not the same Person. Dule Hill did not play Bud on the Cosby Show. He was played by Deon Richmond. Now is the real test. It is a fight to see who is the better friend. Up First, Gus, the pharmaceutical salesman-private detective.
Strengths: Is always there for his friend Shawn. Would do anything to help solve a case. Smart and always drives his friend around. Loves quoting 80's movies. Good wing man.
Weakness: Kind of gets stepped on by Shawn. Woman are a big weakness. Never gets the glory. "You know that's Right"
Up next is Rudy Huxtable's best friend, Kenny, aka "Bud".
Strengths: Would also do anything for his friend Rudy, but doesn't like to be bossed around. He doesn't like being called "Bud"
Weakness: Sometimes lets a girl boss him around, but never to far. Talks back sometimes to much.
I don't think this one is to hard. Clear Winner is Burton "Gus" Guster Not only is he always there for his friends, but he takes off work at his real job to help them out. Besides, he gets to help fight crime. Sorry "Bud" but you don't even come close.

Whatever Happened to: Connie Chung

Connie Chung began her career as a Washington, D.C.-based correspondent for the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite in the early 1970s. This was during the Watergate scandal. She struggled with ratings with a morning news program on NBC called, NBC News at Sunrise. Things started looking up when she moved back to CBS. She hosted Saturday Night with Connie Chung, and on June 1, 1993, she became the second woman (after Barbara Walters with ABC in 1976) to co-anchor a major network's national news broadcast. She is married to talk show host Maury Povich. The real question is, Where is she Now? Looks like after her disastrous shows on CNN and MSNBC, Connie has sort of stayed out of the spotlight. She makes guest appearances on talk shows to talk about current events. She has also narrated some informative documentary. The last real appearance seems to be this year when she was a judge in the Miss Universe 2011 pageant.

Top 5 Obstacle Course Challenges From Double Dare.

Double Dare was a sloppy kids show hosted by clean freak, Marc Summers. It aired on Nickelodeon and is said to have saved the then low rated network. Two teams of kids answer trivia questions and perform Physical challenges. The winning team got to go to the Obstacle Course to gain prizes like a new mountain bike, a word processor, British Knight Shoes, and a trip to Space Camp. Each contestant would take turns on each challenge. There were eight in all. Here is my list of my top 5 Obstacle Course Challenges From Double Dare.

5) The Kid Wash - You would have to push yourself through a human like car wash. A Chance to get Clean. This has to be Marc Summers favorite challenge.

4) The Blue Plate Special - Whether you were digging though a slice of pizza or a giant plate of waffles, this one always made me hungry.

3)The Human Hamster Wheel - You would run on a huge wheel and light these lights up. A giant boxing glove would drop with the flag.

2) The Nose Pick - It looked gross, but this one was so funny. A giant nose with a flag stuck in it was yours to pick. Every time I would catch my sisters picking their noses I would say, "Did you find the Flag Yet.

1) The Sundae Slide - This one is a classic. You would climb up a slope and go down a slide. At the bottom would be a big pile of whip cream. It seems this challenge would get sloppier as the years past.

Village People - Macho Man

Victor Willis (police officer), Felipe Rose (Native American), Randy Jones (cowboy), Glenn Hughes (biker), David Hodo (construction worker) and Alex Briley (GI) were the original members of the successful disco crossover group the Village People. The Village People were a group designed to appeal to the gay audience of the disco area, but crossed over into mainstream with the hits that we all know today. Try going to a wedding or a sporting event and not hearing these guys. Maybe the stereotypes that the Village People brought were O.K. for middle America, but one thing is for sure about these guys. You always want to move and grove when you hear them.

Side 1
1. "Macho Man"- Oh, were do I begin with this song. Sure it is a gay anthem. It's also a song that everyone knows. Laugh at it all you want, but this is one of those song that crossed over. Ladies, the only time your Husbands can act gay is during the Block Party. When they all want to make you laugh and perform this song. "Oh Jim looks so Funny as the biker," says Jim's gorgeous wife. "Carl really knows how to wear that Construction helmet," says Jim's gorgeous wife about Franny's Husband. "Hey How come no one dressed up as the Native American," says Bruce with some sass. Oh the Middle Class! (4 out of 4)

2. "I Am What I Am" - Sure this sounds like everything else they made, but this is the song the middle American played in secret. At least the ones in the Closet. (3 1/2)

Side 2
1. "Key West" - I can picture all of them on skis wearing their respective costumes. I think what makes the Village people so fun is the fact that you can sing with them. All you have to do is repeat what the lead singer says.(3)

2. "Medley: Just a Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody - A nice cover of a already weird song. You can't help but fall for this song. Sure it is cheese, but did we think we were getting a Donna Summer Bologna sandwich. (3)

3. "Sodom and Gomorrah"- I am not even going to touch this one with Charles Nelson Reilly's ascot. (2 1/2)

Ugly Tie of the Day

Aerobic Dancing!

Every record bin, collection, or sale is going to have some throw away records. A lot of these are Christmas Albums, but some of them are going to be exercise Records. Aerobic Dancing came out on Parade Records. In it you will not only find the Album but also a picture guide to all the Aerobic Dancing. You guessed it alright, that is Dorian Dammer who is performing the aerobics. You might remember her from 20 AEROBIC COUNTRY HITS. I know I don't. Do me a favor. The next time you are a feeling blue put on a Dorian Dammer Record. Don't exercise, just listen to her and make fun of it while eating a bag of Doritos. Just like you do at 5:00 in the morning when you see those exercise shows on Channel 8. Then go out and Hunt for Better Records. That's how you burn off those calories Dorian. Bonus Point for the Album Sleeve for the "Dressing for Dancing" Section. It says, "For aerobic dancing, wear loose, Comfortable clothes, such as a T-Shirt and Shorts. A leotard is fine." That is just Classic. Album in General gets a (1 out of 4) but gets a (3) for craptasticness.

My top 5 Fake Bands from TV and Movies

Yes, It is true. Some of the best things in life are not even real. This list is my top 5 fake bands from TV and Movie. Meaning all those bands you heard of on screen but not on the radio. There is a long list of fake bands that didn't make the cut. Sure the Monkees are not real and the Partridge Family is about as real as Joan Rivers Face. But Those Band had hits on the charts. Enjoy the fake bands and try to think of some of your own. It is fun.

5) Driveshaft, from Lost.

4) Frozen Embryos, from My So-Called Life

3) No Vacancy, from School of Rock

2) ZACK ATTACK from Saved By the Bell

1) Spinal Tap from This is Spinal Tap

Lionel Richie- Can't Slow Down

I guess Can't Slow Down won A Grammy for Album of the Year in 1985(Really?) At one time the founding member of The Commodores, Richie's first solo album was in 1982 and sold 4 million albums. Can't Slow Down sold over 20 million copies worldwide. You might be one of those lucky people that own this album. 20 million people can't be wrong? Right? Listen Carefully to the background vocals. Yes, that is Richard Marx you hear.

Side 1
1) Can't Slow Down- The opening sounds like something Mike Post wrote for an 80's television theme song. Can't Slow Down should be faster, It shouldn't remind me of people on the beach. Feathered hair for the girls and Speedos for the men. (2 1/2 out of 4)

2) All Night Long (All Night)- Oh yeah, sipping a Drink with an umbrella in it. This is Lionel Richie to me. I use to sing this on the graveyard shift. He was up All night so much he needed to put it twice. Once in parenthesise.(3)

3) Penny Lover- Here is my two cents. You bore me Penny Lover. This song does remind me about this girl in grade school who swallowed two dimes. You can't even play this song to a bank teller and have them sleep with you. (2)

4) Stuck on You- Cue 80's character finding themself. Driving down on open road while learning a lesson(2)

Side 2
1) Love Will Find a Way - Trying to be Marvin Gaye will not get you any Sexual Healing from me. (1)

2)The Only One- Remember when you first dropped a deck of cards and they fell everywhere. All the card looked the same until you looked closer. I am looking closer. I have a deck of 5 of clubs. (2)

3) Running with the Night- I really liked this song. I didn't think I would, but it really gets stuck in your head. Bonus points to David Cochrone for a great guitar solo. (2 1/2)

4) Hello- Richie at His Best. It is hard to listen to the other ballads on the album when this one is so good. Put it on your outgoing voice mail now. Freak out some friends. "Hello, is it me you're looking for."(3 1/2)

Mary Jane Peanut Butter Kisses

Every time during Halloween, I always crave Mary Jane Peanut Butter Kisses. These are Carmel like candies with yummy peanut butter in the middle. They always come wrapped in orange and black wrappers. I even don't mind when these things stick on the roof of your mouth. Like eating Milk Duds, you always have to scrap these things off your teeth. With this treat, it is worth every bite. I always look for these during the year and I can never find them. I know it is autumn when I can get my hands on a bag of Mary Jane Peanut Butter Kisses. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Crime Doesn't Pay

I don't understand why when some people my age grow up, they still get in trouble. Are you telling me they haven't learned their lesson? Here is why I don't by that. Growing up there were a lot of cartoons that got in trouble for doing bad things. Who could forget how the Beagle Boys always ending up in jail. Sure that Duckberg jail couldn't hold a fly, but they always ending up back there. And don't get me started on the Cookie Crisp Crook
In the span of 30 seconds, he got his fix of Cookie Crisp and still got caught. Maybe the fact that these hanus criminals kept breaking out, could be the the reason that crime is on the rise. How dare they lock you up, when you can just have you mother bake you a cake and put a file in it. I mean I know that the Cookie Cop was no Kojak, but come on. Think about all the cereal commercials about cartoons trying to steal a bowl of goodness. From the Tricks Rabbit to Barney Rubble. It never works, if if Barney dresses up like a Woman. Talk about Fruity Pebbles.
And the biggest criminal of them all, The Hamburglar. First off, this guy wasn't well educated. He could only say the same phrase over and over. Second, you know where to find him. Look for the mailbox that says HamBURGLAR. It's not like these guys are blending in very well. Their fashion statement it a bunch of strips. So remember kids, and grown up kids. Crime doesn't pay.

Lite-Brite

Created by Hasbro in 1967, Lite-Bright is a toy that lets you create glowing designs. I brought my Lite-Bright to school when we had inside Recess. The Lite-Bright is just a really hot lamp inside a tray that you can put colored pegs in. There are eight peg colors: green, blue, red, yellow, orange, pink, purple and colorless clear. I always kept my pegs in a Cool Whip container. I always hated taking the cover off, because you could fry and egg with that lamp. Over the years Lite-Brite was offered in different forms including a flat-screen version, a 3D cube and a FX edition that spins and plays music.

American Gothic (film)

I first found this film in the Wal-mart DVD dump bin. I wanted it because it had Rod Steiger and Yvonne DeCarlo on the cover. You can't beat that! What I got when I popped it in was pure craptastic magic. American Gothic is a 1988 horror movie about about a bunch of friends that are forced to land a plane on a lonely deserted island. They meet Ma and Pa who let them stay until they can find of way home. What they find is truly great. They meet Ma and Pa's children, Franny and Woody. They claim they are 12 but they look like they are 40 years old. It gets weirder. Franny and Woody are dressed in over sized kids clothes. Murders start taking place and before you know it... well lets just say a pair of knitting needles are involved. This is a movie that needs to be seen to be believed. Once you watch it, you will want to find someone who has seen it.

Did You know: Elaine wasn't in the 1st Episode of Seinfeld?

The pilot episode of Seinfeld was called The Seinfeld Chronicles. All the things you know about the show are there, except Elaine wasn't in the pilot. GET OUT!!! In fact, Elaine wasn't even suppose to be the female character in the show. The character of Claire the waitress was originally planned as a regular. The role of Claire was played by Lee Garlington. If only someone gave her a good tip about the success of the show. Out of superstition, Julia Louis-Dreyfus has claimed she will never watch the episode. Good thing, because this episode seems to slow. The ideas are there, but the show just seem off. The other thing that is different is that Kramer is called "Kessler," This is explained in the ninth season during the backwards episode, The Betrayal. The episode goes Eleven years in the past, when new resident Jerry tells his neighbor across the hall, whom he calls Kessler because that is the name on the buzzer. Still, no mention of Claire, the waitress.

Cancelled to Soon T.V. Shows: Nowhere Man

Nowhere Man was the only great T.V. show on the now defunct UPN. Nowhere man was created by Lawrence Hertzog and starred Bruce Greenwood. Greenwood plays Thomas Veil, a photojournalist that might have taken a photo that a A mysterious "Organization" wants. On the night of his photo show, Tom goes out to dinner with his wife. After leaving to use the restroom, Tom returns to find that his life has been "erased." His wife and friends don't know who he is and he can't trust anyone. Each episode deals with different ideas of conspiracy and trust. Nowhere Man was one of the most inventive shows and was before it's time. The pilot episode it one of the best I have ever seen. I dare you to watch it and not get hooked. The show is sort of a cross between the Fugitive, 24, X-files, and Lost.

Smarties

These chalky like candies are a staple of Halloween, and that is just plan dumb! Smarties are a type of artificially fruit-flavored tablet candy. Wrapped up in a crunchy sounding wrapper, Smarties are the candy you try to trade but don't get much for them. Maybe a Clark Bar, if you are lucky. I am not saying these are terrible, but they just seem bland and not fun to hand out. Sure, at 25 calories and 6 grams of sugar in a roll of Smarties, they are not terrible. I just would rather have a king size Snicker. Hell, a Fun Size would be better.

Would You Trust Slugworth?

Slugworth is by for the creepiest person of all time. Look at those weird eyes. It scares me that this man pulls kids aside and tries to get candy from them. A new trick? Now we can't give candy to strangers. The way he just stares forward like he doesn't have a care in the world. Sure, Willy Wonka hired him, but he could of picked a less creepy dude. What about his fashion sense? He looks like business man from London who came over to the United States and ended up going to strip clubs all night. Oh, he is his own Everlasting Gobstopper!!!

Commercial Break : Where's The Beef?

Whatever Happened to: Jo From The Facts of Life

The Fact of Life was a spin-off from the show Diff'rent Strokes. Edna Garrett (Charlotte Rae)was the housemother to the girls at the Eastland School. The shows second season began to follow the adventures of Blair, Natalie, Tootie, and Jo.Who could forget all the fights between Jo and Blair? Jo was the motorcycle loving tomboy, played by Nancy McKeon. During the 1980s she dated the actor Michael J. Fox. In 1995 she starred in her own series, Can't Hurry Love. Nancy has had sucess doing Made-for-TV movies. Most recently she played Connie Munroe on the Disney Channel Original Series, Sonny with a Chance. She is married to Marc Andrus. The couple have 2 children.

Coy And Vance Luke Suck

In the spring of 1982 something terrible happen to one of the best shows ever. Tom Wopat and John Schneider didn't report to the set of, The Dukes of Hazzard. Contract dispute over their salaries and merchandising royalties owed to them lent to the truancy. So the producers hired Byron Cherry as Coy Duke and Christopher Mayer as Vance Duke. They were Bo and Lukes cousin, but to me there were a generic brand. The Shasta of Hazzard County. Ratings went down deeper than Waylon Jennings voice. Warner Brothers renegotiated with Wopat and Schneider, and eventually a settlement was reached, and the original Duke boys returned to the series in early 1983. It was too late, the General Lee was tarnished. In early February 1985, The Dukes of Hazzard quietly ended its run. Thanks a lot Coy and Vance!!!

Recorder

Remember when they gave you all those different instruments in grade school. The real bad kids would get the Triangle or the finger cymbals. The worst was the recorder. Oh, how I hated the Recorder in grade school music class. Those wooden instruments that they make you play. They teach you like one song. It was always "Hot Cross Buns" or something stupid like that. I don't wish Recorder lessons on anyone. I don't know how sanitary these things were. I am sure we were spreading more germs around. Way to give a hyper ten year old the Flu. Then you get to stay home from school and watch The Price is Right!

Les Nessman VS. Dwight Schrute

It a Contest to see who is the dorkiest Office Worker. No better contest than between
Les Nessman and Dwight Schrute. Pull out a Pocket Protector. This one will be Good.
First up is that "Buckeye Newshawk Award," winner from WKRP, Les Nessman
Strengths:: Award Winner. A Real Passion on reporting the news. No matter how boring it is.
Weakness: Turkeys. He was a little out of touch with the others at the Radio Station. Reminds people all the time he is a "Buckeye Newshawk Award," winner.
Next is the former acting manager for the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, Dwight Schrute
Strengths: paintball, Battlestar Galactica, ping pong, survivalism, Goju Ryu karate
Weakess: Always Falls for Jim's Pranks.
Winner: This one is a hard one. Each one of these guys is so dorky in their right minds. I guess if I would have to give to the one who is really dorky. I would have to go for Dwight Schrute. Les Nessman is more lame than anything. Sorry Les. You are a real "Turkey"

Does Anyone Remember? Fun House (Kids Game Show)

Fun House was a kid's game show that ran on fox from 1988 to 1991. Two teams that consisting of a boy and a girl, went thought Sloppy challenges to gain points. The Second Round was the Fun House Grand Prix. Each Team member would race around a slipper track in their Grand Prix car. They would collect tokens to help them get to the last round. The Winning team got to go into the Fun House. They would Race around grabbing red tags (prizes) and green tags (money). They would add it up at the end. I remember the Fun house looked so cool to run around in. The show was hosted by J. D. Roth, who was assisted by cheerleading twins Jacqueline "Jackie" and Samantha "Sammi" Forrest.

Sixlet Candy

Sure Halloween is a time to get a lot of candy, but when I went trick or treating I always got stuff I never ate any other time of the year.  One of those such candies was the Sixlets Candy. Now you have to remember, during Halloween everything came in Fun Size. Basically it was six or seven coated chocolate flavored candy that were wrapped in load cellophane. Sixlets come in a variety of colors including red, brown, yellow, green, and orange. They weren't bad, they just weren't M&M's.

Unsolved Mysteries

I don't know about you, but this show scared me when I was younger. It might have been the creepy theme music. It could of been the host, Robert Stack. It was most likely the scary unsolved crimes and crazy urban legends that the show talked about. Unsolved Mysteries features segments in documentary film style, with actors portraying the victims, perpetrators and witnesses. The show started as specials in 1987, but became a regular series on NBC from 1988 to 1997. This was also the first time I saw those freaky U.F.O. sighting videos. They tried to revive the show many times. The new version was hosted by Dennis Farina. These were just not the same. There is something creepy and wonderful about the original. You can caught them in reruns on the Lifetime Channel.

Bosom Buddies

What a Drag!!! Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari starred in the 80's sitcom, Bosom Buddies. They played Kip and Henry, who worked in a creative advertising agency. They also played Buffy and Hildegarde when they disguised themselves as women in order to live in the dirt-cheap women only hotel. The creators wanted a buddy sitcom that was also like the movie Some Like It Hot. It debut to high ratings but sank when the writer's strike was in full swing. Looking at the show now, you can't understand how the other women didn't catch on sooner. Hanks and Scolari look like bad drag queens. Rupal would not be proud.

Simon Game

Over the weekend I saw my niece playing with a Simon Game. I didn't know they still were making them. Simon is a memory game that involved four big buttons. Green, Red, Yellow, and Blue were the color of the buttons and the object was to press back the combination that the game gives you. If you miss it makes that weird buzz fart sound. This is another game that when the batter fell out you would tape it to the back. The game was invented by Ralph H. Baer and Howard J. Morrison. Simon is named for the simple children's game of Simon says, but the gameplay is based on Atari's unpopular Touch Me arcade game from 1974.

I Read about Quantum Leap

Whose Voice is that? Johnny 5

Short Circuit was a 1986 movie about a U.S. military robot that gets stuck by lightning and thinks it is alive. The film starred Ally Sheedy , Steve Guttenberg, and Fisher Stevens. The robot's voice was played by American puppeteer and voice actor, Tim Blaney. He also played Johnny 5 in the sequel, Short Circuit 2. Some great quotes from the robot include, "Johnny 5 is Alive!" and "Hey Laserlips. Your mama was a snow blower." Blaney has been involved as a puppeteer for many movies. He has provided the voices for Frank the Pug in Men in Black and Men in Black II. He also did work on the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

Beat the Geeks

Beat the Geeks was a game show on the Comedy Central Network. It aired from 2001 -2002. Contests would go against savant geeks on certain subjects. There was the Movie, TV, and Music Geek. There would always be a fourth Geek that would specialize in a more specific Subject. Like the Simpsons Geek, The Playboy Geek, Star Wars Geek, The Michael Jackson Geek, and so on. The winner would then go on to the Geek to Geek Showdown. They would choose one Geek to go against. They would battle with questions until one of them reached seven points. I loved watching this. It wasn't really funny and I don't know why it was on Comedy Network. I guess we all have a little geek in us.

The Monster Cereals by General Mills (Guest Post by Katie Foster)

This morning as I poured myself a bowl of Franken Berry Cereal, I KNEW I needed to do another guest contribution to Brad's blog. Franken Berry, Count Chocula, and Boo Berry were three of my favorite cereals as a kid. Sadly, now you can only get these cereals at "select vendors" (Aka - Target) during the Halloween Season.
Franken Berry and Count Chocula were both released in 1971 and Boo Berry followed the next year. General Mills produced two other "Monster Cereals" that most people do not remember - Fruit Brute and Fruity Yummy Mummy.
Franken Berry initially (when first produced in 1971) had a dye in it that did not break down in the body - it caused children's to have bright pink feces - This cool side effect is often referred to as the "Frankenberry Stools". NO WAY would Franken Berry have stayed on the market if released like that now!
If you haven't picked up your Monster Cereals for the year, RUN to Target and get some today - they're sure to bring back memories.- By Katie Foster

Do you want to have a guest post on the Retro Cool Junk Reminder just email me at bradleyjdor@yahoo.com to find out how. Thanks Katie!!!

Cancelled to Soon T.V. Shows: The Book of Daniel

This controversial show debated on NBC on January 6, 2006. The show revolved around Reverend Daniel Webster (Aidan Quinn), his church on his family. Sound innocent enough, but the show dealt with tough subjects. Daniel was addicted to pain killers, his wife loved her afternoon martinis, their oldest son was gay, their daughter Grace is arrested for drug possession, and their adopted Chinese son dates many of the parishioners. If that wasn't enough, Daniel regularly sees and talks with a traditional western, white-skinned, white-robed and bearded Jesus. How could this not be a hit. Many christian groups boycotted the show, but if they really watched it they would see how the family comes together to help each other. Eight episode aired on T.V. before it was cancelled. The four episodes that never aired were shown on-line. To bad, this was a brilliant show that had a great voice.

Howard the Duck

What the Quack!!! Loosely based on the Marvel comic book, Howard the Duck came out in 1986. Howard is a 27 year old alien, from the planet Duckworld, who comes to Earth. He meets a singer, Beverly (Lea Thompson). Now here is where it gets a little weird. Howard tries to get back home and helps Beverly with her singing career. Howard and Beverly start having a romance. What the Quack!!! The film is widely considered as one of the worst films ever. You do need to see this movie just once, just to understand how bad it is. After that, never watch it again. You can however make fun of the movie as many times as you want. The film was produces by George Lucas. Many actors in the film have separated themselves from Howard the Duck, but Lucas still supports the movie. Lucas claims with time the movie will be seen in a different light. For me it's still on the "dark side."

Road to Avonlea

This Lucy Maud Montgomery adaption was first broadcast in Canada and later on the Disney channel. From the same people that brought you the Anne of Green Gables book, this show was created by Kevin Sullivan and produced by Sullivan Films. I remember loving the Disney Free preview weekend and watching the Road To Avonlea. The show followed the King family and the arrival of their cousin, Sara Stanley. (played by Sarah Polley) The show brought in a lot of great guest stars: Christopher Reeve, Stockard Channing, Ryan Gosling, Maureen Stapleton, Treat Williams, Christopher Lloyd and Dianne Wiest. Lloyd and Wiest won emmy awards for their roles. The town of Avonlea was adapted from existing buildings and roads were painted red to emulate the red sand of the Island. The show ran from 1990 and 1996.

Whatever Happened to: Rockapella

A cappella musical group formed in 1986 in New York City, Rockapella are best known for the theme song for the show, Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? They also helped out in sketches on the show. Rockapella also did commercials for Folgers, Doritos, Taco Bell, and Arby's. The band has released 16 albums. Where in the World Is Rockapella Now? Well after Carmen Sandiego, the group went through some changes in members. In 2011 they booked a concert for the Carnival Cruise Lines' Glory. It took place on January 23–30, 2011 and included private concerts and a meet and greet cocktail party with Rockapella. The band's cover of "It's A Small World" from their album Comfort & Joy, was featured in a TV commercial for the animated film Gnomeo and Juliet. They are in the works to bring out another Holiday Christmas Album toward the end of the year. Do It Rockapella!

Commercial Break: Clorox 2

Richard Castle VS. Jessica Fletcher

There have been many T.V. Detectives over the years, but there has only been of handful of authors turned crime fighters. What better battle then between Richard Castle and Jessica Fletcher. So grab a cup of Coffee because there is going to be a murder!
First off is that Millionaire Crime Fighter, Richard Castle
Strengths: Would do anything for his partner. We mean anything! Sometimes his Crazy ideas come in Handy when solving crimes.
Weakness: Sometime he gets in the way instead of helping. Oh, and he would do anything for his partner. We mean anything!

Next is that best-selling author of mystery novels as well as an amateur detective from Cabot Cove, Maine, Jessica Fletcher.
Strengths: This girl can solve crimes. Fast thinking detective mind
Weakness: Everywhere she goes someone dies. I mean you wouldn't want to go to her book signing. You might end up with a pen in your neck.
Winner This is a close one but as far as detective skills I have to give it to Jessica Fletcher. Sorry Castle, even though you are fun, I think Jessica could solve a mystery faster.

Whose Voice is that? Smurfette

Smurfette was the only female Smurf in the village, but she didn't start there. She was was created by Gargamel, but Papa Smurf changed here into a real smurf. Who the "smurf" did her voice? 95 year old Lucille Bliss was the voice of Smurfette. That is right kids, Smurfette probably has dentures! Bliss continually went to audition for a voice in Hanna-Barbera cartoons for approximately 20 years, before she was hired. She still does voice of work for Nickelodeon and Disney. She currently lives in an smurf retirement home, but is still capable of doing voice-work. Here last voice over job was in 2007 as Quinby, in the short Up-In-Down Town. Holy "SMURF!"

Mr. Belvedere on 90's Sitcom Ned & Stacey

Ned & Stacey is a US television sitcom that aired on FOX for two seasons. The major thread of the series was that the two were brought together in a marriage of convenience. It starred Thomas Haden Church and Debra Messing. Ned worked for an advertising agency. In the season 2 episode titled, Saved by the Belvedere, Ned tries to get Christopher Hewett (AKA Mr. Belvedere) to endorse a client's product, "Cappuccino in a Can." When he meets Christopher Hewett he finds that he acts, dresses and lives in a room that looks like Mr. Belvedere. Throughout the episode he is giving advice. He even writes in the Classic Mr. Belvedere journal. It is example of an O.K. T.V. show doing something creative with retro references. Now, sitcoms and dramas are full of them. Thanks Mr. Belvedere!!!

The Paul Lynde Halloween Special

On October 29, 1976 on ABC, a Craptastic Masterpiece was broadcast in to homes. The Paul Lynde Halloween Special was a one of a kind special hosted by Paul himself. The broadcast brought out some crazy guest stars including : Margaret Hamilton, Witchiepoo, Tim Conway, Roz Kelly, Florence Henderson, Billy Barty, Betty White , an unbilled surprise appearance, Donny and Marie Osmond, and the first T.V. appearance of the Band Kiss. Sketches, Bad puns, and giant musical numbers were part of the show. The show itself has been a Kiss Collector's dream and has been bootlegged over the years in KISS fan circles. They perform "Detroit Rock City", "Beth" and "King of the Night Time World" It took a long time to get the rights to the show, but in 2006 it was release on DVD. The Treat: The Kiss Performances, The Trick: Florence Henderson's version of Old Black Magic.

BurgerTime Video Game

BurgerTime is one of the first Video games that I had for my Classic Nintendo. In the Game, Chef Peter Pepper must climb up and down to create the prefect hamburger. Every time he would walk over the lettuce, beef or bun, it would drop to the next section. Watch out for the hot dog guys and the Egg. I remember you could get Salt or Pepper shakers and Kill them. Like any of these early Nintendo games, you would just memorize where they would go and avoid them. The record high score on BurgerTime is 11,512,500 points, set by Bryan L. Wagner in 2008.

Whatever Happened to: The Other Dad From "My Two Dads"

My Two Dads is an American sitcom that aired on NBC from 1987 to 1990. The show was about two guys that both loved the same women and are awarded joint custody of her daughter after she dies. Paul Reiser and Greg Evigan were the two dads. Now everyone knows about Paul Reiser, but what about Greg Evigan. Before he was a dad on T.V. he drove a truck on B.J. and the Bear. In the 90's he was in TekWar, a sci-fit hit based on a series of books by Star Trek elder statesman William Shatner. Seem like now Evigan guest stars on procedural dramas like CSI:Miami, JAG, and Cold Case. He can be last seen playing Jonathon in the 2011 movie, Metal Tornado. He is not just a famous T.V. dad but I real one too. Greg has three children and is married to the Broadway dancer, Pamela Serpe.

Mr. and Mrs. Dracula

Dear Reader,
A couple Minutes ago I just stumbled upon an 80's show that I do not remember at all, Mr. and Mrs. Dracula. Further research tells me that I am right by not remember this. This was a sitcom that ABC tried to release. There were two pilots filmed and a they tried to promote it right after Benson. The idea was to have Dracula moves his family from Transylvania to the USA. Dick Shawn was Dracula. Dick Shawn was a very obscure comedian that some say is an acquired taste. Great ABC, lets give him a sitcom that has a talking puppet bat. That will get the ratings. I love how craptastic this clip is that I found. Enjoy!
