Cancelled to Soon T.V. Shows: The Book of Daniel

This controversial show debated on NBC on January 6, 2006. The show revolved around Reverend Daniel Webster (Aidan Quinn), his church on his family. Sound innocent enough, but the show dealt with tough subjects. Daniel was addicted to pain killers, his wife loved her afternoon martinis, their oldest son was gay, their daughter Grace is arrested for drug possession, and their adopted Chinese son dates many of the parishioners. If that wasn't enough, Daniel regularly sees and talks with a traditional western, white-skinned, white-robed and bearded Jesus. How could this not be a hit. Many christian groups boycotted the show, but if they really watched it they would see how the family comes together to help each other. Eight episode aired on T.V. before it was cancelled. The four episodes that never aired were shown on-line. To bad, this was a brilliant show that had a great voice.
