The Monster Cereals by General Mills (Guest Post by Katie Foster)

This morning as I poured myself a bowl of Franken Berry Cereal, I KNEW I needed to do another guest contribution to Brad's blog. Franken Berry, Count Chocula, and Boo Berry were three of my favorite cereals as a kid. Sadly, now you can only get these cereals at "select vendors" (Aka - Target) during the Halloween Season.
Franken Berry and Count Chocula were both released in 1971 and Boo Berry followed the next year. General Mills produced two other "Monster Cereals" that most people do not remember - Fruit Brute and Fruity Yummy Mummy.
Franken Berry initially (when first produced in 1971) had a dye in it that did not break down in the body - it caused children's to have bright pink feces - This cool side effect is often referred to as the "Frankenberry Stools". NO WAY would Franken Berry have stayed on the market if released like that now!
If you haven't picked up your Monster Cereals for the year, RUN to Target and get some today - they're sure to bring back memories.- By Katie Foster
