Nebraska NETV is shown on Nebraska PBS stations. In the 80's they broadcasted education programs that were shown in grade schools. I remember watching The Letter People, Reverse the Curse, Treasure Island, Tales of the Tree House, Once Upon a Time, and the one were the guy drew the stories while he told them.(I don't know the name of this one.) Most of the programs taught you how to read, write, etc... The shows seemed to use the same local actors.

Star Lore!
I worked on several of these shows in the late 70s at the KYNE-TV studios on the campus of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Many of the later programs were written by D. Chetley Kraft who found ways to work curriculum into entertaining story lines. The programs featured local actors. At the time, KYNE had a studio-production mentality that mirrored the network television model.
BTW: I-Land Treasure was the name of the show with pirate Captain Lingo (and can be found on YouTube)

"Sorry for incovience"
I love these shows, especially Star Lore and Once Upon a Time. I'd enjoy getting an archive of them somehow to share with the kids in my life. Both sparked a lifelong love of reading.
