Ned & Stacey is a US television sitcom that aired on FOX for two seasons. The major thread of the series was that the two were brought together in a marriage of convenience. It starred Thomas Haden Church and Debra Messing. Ned worked for an advertising agency. In the season 2 episode titled, Saved by the Belvedere, Ned tries to get Christopher Hewett (AKA Mr. Belvedere) to endorse a client's product, "Cappuccino in a Can." When he meets Christopher Hewett he finds that he acts, dresses and lives in a room that looks like Mr. Belvedere. Throughout the episode he is giving advice. He even writes in the Classic Mr. Belvedere journal. It is example of an O.K. T.V. show doing something creative with retro references. Now, sitcoms and dramas are full of them.
