Pole Position was an 80's cartoon that was based on the Video game. The Show was about three kid. Two of them where stunt drivers but also in a secret organization called, ""Pole Position Stunt Show" There was a blue car and a red car called "Roadie" and "Wheels." Top 5 Theme Songs on TV right now

It's rare I do a post about a modern topic, but this is a subject that goes back to the dawn of television. It's the rise and fall and the slow rise of the T.V. theme song. You don't get that many theme songs nowadays. Maybe they think we just have no attention span and need to get into the show right away. Part of that might be true, but I like to think that the theme song will never die. When I talk about the top 5 theme song out there now, there is a certain guideline it must follow. It has to be longer than 5 seconds and It has to have lyrics. Here is my Top 5

5) Two and A Half Men - 4) Damages - 3) Community - 2) Psych - 1) The Big Band Theory -

Rosie Larsen and Growning Pains

So I'm addicted to the AMC show, The Killing. The Killing follows the murder investigation of Rosie Larsen. So I'm watching this one episode and I keep thinking I know one of the actors that is playing the wife of a suspect.
I'm like "where have a seen her before. Then it hits me. That is the girl that played Chrissy Seaver on the T.V. Show, Growing Pains. (Played by Ashley Johnson)
Chrissy was the youngest of the Seaver clan. Just like all the shows back in the day, they brought in a young kid when the ratings dipped. So now turns to the real question, Did her husband (the Teacher) kill Rosie Larsen. or Did Crissy Seaver kill her. And why hasn't Alan Thicke guest starred on this show?

Dick Clark dead at 82

Dick Clark has passed away at the age of 82. Many believed that he would live forever, and really he has and will. Dick Clark with always be connected to three major things to me, New Years Eve, $25,000 Pyramid, and American Bandstand. Clark introduced a lot of major stars to the main stream. Back in the day if you made it on American Bandstand, then you really made it. He was our MTV before we had MTV. He was Ryan Seacrest way before American Idol. So let us Celebrate Dick Clark by getting together and listening to music, or even playing a round of the Pyramid with your friend. Thanks for the Memories Dick. Hope your are Rocking and Rolling in Heaven .

"For now, Dick Clark… so long,"

1) Law & Order episodes with Michael Moriarty in them - I'm enjoying the roots of one of the best shows ever on T.V. Sure Sam Waterston is great, but the episodes with Moriarty (Seasons 1-4) are some of the best written episode in the serious. Check them out.

2) Good Bob Dylan songs on Bad Bob Dylan Albums - Most artists would love to have at least one great song on an album.

3) Wishing I could play Candyland at a Coffee Shop - Don't Ask

Favorite New Old Song - Molly Hatchet - Flirtin with Disaster

I know what you are thinking! How has he not heard of this song? Well I heard it once on a Classic Rock station, but didn't really listen to it. At a young age you want to hear the classic, like the Beatles and The Stones. I heard this last night driving home, and I just loved it. It's fast, fun and gets stuck in your head. Kind of like me.

Does anyone remember the Game Show: Bumper Stumpers?

Bumper Stumpers was a Canadian game show in which two teams try to figure out vanity license plates. I remember the show on the USA network during their block of afternoon game shows. Clues were giving to help the contestants to solve the stumpers. The show was created by Wink Martindale. It was hosted by Canadian personality, Al Dubois. The Show ran from June 29, 1987 to December 28, 1990. Check out the video below to see if you remember. Don't forget to notice how strange Canadians dress!

Crack The Case

Crack the Case is a party game that is best played with a group of people. The more the better. One person reads a Mystery card, and then the others ask yes/no question in order to guess what happened. I first played this in high school. This was one of the best board games I have ever played. You get excited trying to figure out what happened. The game comes with 108 cards. I've found the game one other time at a thrift store and bought it. I got my friends addicted to the mysteries and they were bummed when I lost it in a recent move. Damn You... Some days I want to play Crack the Case. If anyone has this game, please let me know.

Who's Voice is that: E.T.

E.T. was the movie that changed the way blockbuster movies are ranked. Many of my friends remember E.T. as the first movie their parents took them to. But who provided the voice of the Extra-Terrestrial? Well it wasn't just one person or even one thing that brought the voice to life. The major voice work for E.T. was performed by Pat Welsh. She smoked two packs a day, which was the reason for her deep voice. She also had been hired by George Lucas to be the voice of Boushh in Star wars Return of The Jedi. It is rumored Lucas heard her voice while she was at a laundromat. Welsh was originally paid $380 for 9 1/2 hours work on E.T. Along with her voice, they recorded 16 other people, including Spielberg. Debra Winger(then married to the sound effects supervisor of the movie) also provided some voice work after her husband heard her talking with a cold. Talk about a Term of Endearment.

3 Retro Obsessions for the Week April 1 - April 7

1) Shel Silverstein - So I am a big kid. Really, can you pass these books without picking them up and reading them. We all could go back and learn from these stories. Sure Dr. Seuss had the market, but Shel Silverstein is like the alternative to green eggs and ham. That is saying a lot.

2) Duran Duran - Hungry Like the Wolf - Because who doesn't like singing "I smell like I sound."

3) Pretending like I'm playing $25,000 Pyramid with people who don't know what i am doing - "Look at me, You put me on cereal and I'm Branded with an date on the side of me" - me "That will be $14.75. Paper or Plastic"- checkout girl. Damn, Thanks Dick Clark!

My top 10 favorite TV/ Movie Character Names

10) Denny Crane - Boston Legal - Really any character Shatner portrays is great, this one was the most memorable. Mostly because he would repeat his name all the time, even when he was shooting clients in the ass.

9) Gordon Shumway - ALF - This was ALF's Real name. Now you know.

8) Brisco County Jr. - The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. - This cowboy knew how to win over the ladies, time travel, and talk to people from the future. Not bad for a Western.

7) Gen. 'Buck' Turgidson - Dr. Strangelove - He was one of the guys fighting in the war room. There is no fighting in the war room.

6) Buckaroo Banzai - The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension - It's just fun to say.

5) Chandler Bing - Friends - Who the hell names their kid Chandler?

4) Pheobe Buffay - The funniest and most out there friend and the funniest most out there name.

3) Les Nesman - WKRP - His name is about as nerdy as him. The perfect fit for the Outcast newsroom reporter.

2) Boomhauer - King of the Hill- What did he say?

1) Donald Draper/ Dick Whitman - Madmen - One of the best names and characters on modern tv isn't even his real name. Surprise, the real Don Draper is really a frail weak man named Dick Whitman. Now that is Mad.
