Produced by David E. Kelly, Picket Fences was a quirky drama that followed the towns people of Rome, Wisconsin. It mostly followed the Brock Family and dealt with tough subjects like abortion, homophobia and LGBT adoption, transsexuality, racism, belief in God, medical ethics, polygamy, polyamory, adolescent sexuality (including nocturnal emission), date rape, cryonics, the Holocaust, shoe fetishism, masturbation, spontaneous human combustion, and constitutional rights. Each week brought weird and off the beat problems that the town would have to solve. I think that this show was brave and way before it's time. Here is to the people of Rome, for opening our hearts and our minds.
